CCL CONVENES POLITICAL PARTIES FOR ACCEPTANCE OF ELECTORAL RESULTS
Earlier on the 17.05.17, CCL invited all political parties in Lesotho to sign a pledge to accept election results. This act was therefore followed by the prayer breakfast meeting which was held today on the 07th June 2017 at the United Nations House. The objective of this meeting was for the parties to honour that pledge and sign an agreement of acceptance of results.
The meeting pointed out that the incoming government should treat the issue of reforms as a priority after taking office. The political leaders also indicated that there is need for national dialogue of political leaders to enhance national unity.
The nation on the other hand has been urged to maintain order as well as to strive to be the nation of peace which Lesotho has always been known to be.
The culmination of the meeting was the signing of the statement of acceptance of electoral results and a unanimous agreement by the present political parties that the elections were free and fair.
